Video mapping tour

The Video Mapping Festival returns to Béthune with a 6-point tour of the city centre, which will take you from Labanque to the Béthune-Bruay Tourist Office, passing by the CIC Rue d’Arras, the War Memorial Place du 73ème, the Saint Vaast church and the Grand’Place Beffroi. Discover the city’s architectural heritage in a new light!

Facade of Labanque:

► Fat Carte
The gold card reigns supreme over the treasures of the bank. Like Midas, it curses in gold those who succumb to the temptation of opulence and overconsumption. Drowned in gold and plastic toys, this show offers a surprising echo to the past of the venue, but also to the very current excesses of our society…

Direction: Clément GOFFINET
Animation: Joanna ALBERT, Clément GOFFINET, Jules Camille HUVIG, Diane KLENES
Original music: Géraldine KWIK
Lyrics: Benjamin DURAND
Singing: Benjamin DURAND
Studio recording: Fred CANDEILLE, Studio La Fabric

Facade of CIC:

► Physarum polycephalum
The Physarum polycephalum or blob is a single-celled species that lives in the forest. It is protean and has the ability to learn, although it does not have a brain or a central nervous system. This work explores the natural growth patterns that blob offers and relates them to the art deco style and natural form details of the building. Let’s go on an architectural journey for a walk in a mysterious forest!

Direction and animation: Samuel GADENNE
Original music: Birdd – Renaud WATINE

War Memorial:

► The green eternity
The mapping aims to honour the memory of the soldiers and raise awareness of the tragedy of war by creating a space of remembrance that values life and reincarnation. It begins with a representation of war, gradually replaced by hope and rebirth, represented through the beauty of nature.

Direction and animation: Hamza MRABET
Original music: Géraldine KWIK
Lyrics: Based on the poem Si je mourais là-bas by Guillaume Apollinaire
Singing: Cécile COGNET
Studio recording: Fred CANDEILLE, Studio La Fabric

Organ of the Saint Vaast Church:

► Météorgue
A luminous score combining music, nature and singing. This immersion, sometimes shimmering, sometimes brilliant, will highlight the organ of the Saint-Vaast church, the beating heart of the building.

Direction and animation: Simon LEBON
Original music: Aleksi AUBRY-CARLSON

Beffroi :

► Pop
Pop is a journey through the references of popular and geek culture, from cinema to series to video games, in which young and old will get together!

Direction: Patrick GRANDI
Animation: Louise BOURLOT, Patrick GRANDI
Original music: Géraldine KWIK

Facade of Béthune-Bruay Tourist Office:

► Lights of a Golden Age
A journey back in time to the carefree and joyful years of the Roaring Twenties.
Join us for an evening of excess, in the company of an elegant young woman. Let yourself be carried away by an extraordinary energy and feel the magic of this era, the lively dances and a budding passion in this nocturnal adventure! A visual experience celebrating love and the splendour of a past era!

Direction: Maöké
Animation: Aurélien BINAULD, Lucas DUROT
Musique : Benjamin MATHIEU
